BOARD GOALS 2021-2022

The 2021-2022 Board of Education Goals were written this year, keeping in mind that students have returned to our school buildings full time after a challenging period of hybrid learning (in school and virtual platforms) and changes in facility use.   We continue to experience unsettling times due to the COVID-19 virus and we must do all that we can to aid our students in achieving success and experience opportunities during this time.

GOAL #1 - Student Success

To support and promote student success and achievement by creating college and career readiness pathways that provide an opportunity for all students that provides guidance to successfully transition to higher education, the world of work or the military.  We will continually endeavor to employ and invest in the professional development of a highly qualified, diverse staff that is student-centered and committed to professional mastery. We will work to encourage a climate of engagement, a standard of inclusivity, and a culture of excellence at every level of our district.

We will engage students, staff, parents, agencies, and other community members to ensure a safe, civil, inclusive, healthy, equitable, and intellectually stimulating learning atmosphere within all district buildings to provide a network of services, supports, and activities that promote a safe and inclusive environment where students are drug and alcohol free, protected from bullying, and equipped to achieve their full potential.

To support a budget that maximizes opportunities for students while controlling costs for district taxpayers, mindful of the state tax cap levy and the impact of all state mandates. We must continue all advocacy efforts with our state and federal political representatives to ensure equitable, adequate, sustainable, and predictable funding for our schools.

We must use all avenues of communication available to us to improve transparency and effectiveness, so that we can create an environment of mutual respect and to facilitate two-way communication with all stakeholders.

In executing our fiduciary responsibilities to the district and all its stakeholders we will continue to encourage the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of all of our facilities. We will continue to work with the facilities committee and the Building Condition Survey to best serve the needs of the district. We are aware of the challenges involved in opening our facilities to our students and the many groups that use them, following CDC, DOH, and SED guidelines. We will support the district in its efforts to keep everyone safe.
