The 2022-23 Board of Education Goals focus on preparing all students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens ready to meet the challenges of the future. In partnership with families and community stakeholders, our goal is to create relevant learning opportunities for students — both inside and outside the classroom — that help them develop the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and character necessary to achieve success in their academic goals, professional goals, and future endeavors.
GOAL #1 - Student Success
To support and promote student success and achievement by creating college, career and civic readiness pathways that provide an opportunity for all students the guidance to successfully transition to higher education, the world of work or the military, starting as early as pre-kindergarten progressing to twelfth grade. We will continually endeavor to employ and retain, and invest in the professional development of a highly qualified, diverse staff team that is student-centered and committed to professional mastery. We will work to encourage a climate of engagement, a standard of inclusivity, and a culture of excellence at every level of our district.
GOAL #2 - Safe/Supportive Learning Environment
We will engage students, staff, parents, agencies, and other community members to ensure a safe, civil, inclusive, healthy, equitable, and intellectually stimulating learning atmosphere within all district buildings to provide a network of services, supports, and activities that promote a safe and inclusive environment where students are drug and alcohol free, protected from bullying, and equipped to achieve their full potential.
GOAL #3 - Budget
To support a budget that maximizes opportunities for students while controlling costs for district taxpayers, mindful of the state tax cap levy and the impact of all state mandates. We must continue all advocacy efforts with our state and federal political representatives to ensure equitable, adequate, sustainable, and predictable funding for our schools.
GOAL #4 - Communication
We must use all avenues of communication available to us to improve transparency and effectiveness, so that we can create an environment of mutual respect and to facilitate two-way communication with all stakeholders, reflective of all communities the District serves.
GOAL #5 - Facilities
In executing our fiduciary responsibilities to the District and all its stakeholders, we will continue to encourage the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of all of our facilities. We will continue to work with the facilities committee and the Building Condition Survey to best serve the needs of the District. We are aware of the challenges involved in opening our facilities to our students and the many groups that use them, following CDC, DOH, and SED guidelines. We will support the District in its efforts to keep everyone safe.
