My wife, Carla, our daughter Katherine, a senior at WHS, and I have been residents in the Washingtonville district for 21 years. I am completing my first term as a trustee on the Washingtonville BOE and would like to continue serving on the board for another term.

I am a math teacher at Scarsdale Middle School and currently serve on the Scarsdale Personnel & Family Assistant Fund, a philanthropic committee to help those in need that I have chaired for 20 years.

I am an active member of St. Mary’s parish in Washingtonville.

I would like to continue to bring my years of educational experience to help our district continue to move in a positive direction in educating our children.

Thank you for your support!

BOE Candidate Kristie Johnson

My name is Kristie Johnson and I am running for re-election as Trustee for the Washingtonville School Board.  I am an accomplished business operations manager with a proven track record in streamlining processes, ensuring industry compliance, and fostering effective team dynamics. With a passion for making a positive impact, I dedicate my time to various volunteer organizations.

Beyond my professional achievements, my personal journey has shaped me into a resilient individual. I have embarked on a new venture as a coach, where I share my invaluable insights and experiences to help others build and enforce healthy boundaries.

Serving as a trustee for the Washingtonville Central School District Board of Education, I have had the opportunity to share my unique perspective and passion for quality education. “The human mind is an invaluable tool which can become an unstoppable force when properly wielded” was my response when asked why I would volunteer her time for the Board of Education. “The children of our community are our greatest gift and responsibility.”

A wife, mother of three, and entrepreneur it’s difficult to understand how and why I make time to serve others. I would say that volunteering is an obligation and a privilege.

My name is William M. Hewlett, Jr. and I am running for re-election as Trustee for the Washingtonville School Board where I serve as Secretary.  The Hewlett family has been a part of the Wizard family for the last 18 years.  My wife Yvonne is a Teaching Assistant at the Washingtonville Middle School and has recently received her Master’s Degree and is looking forward to securing a full-time teaching position in the District this fall.  Our daughter Billie-Barbara (Wizard Class of 2016) also works for the District and our daughters Ivonne (Wizard class of 2009) and Blaise (Wizard class of 2021) have benefited from a Washingtonville school district education.

I am the retired Principal of PS/MS 31 in the Bronx where I was a 30-year educator, I am currently an instructor at SUNY Orange in the Bridges Program, a program for special needs young adults.  I am a licensed school building administrator (Fordham University) and earned my Master’s Degree from Lehman College.

As an advocate for the academic, social and emotional success and well-being of ALL students, I vow to continue this work as a member of the Board.  It has been both my pleasure and honor to represent the residents of Washingtonville as an elected school board member and being a link between the community and the school district.

I thank all voters in advance for their consideration of my candidacy.
