2023-24 School Budget Information

Vote for the 2023-2024 school budget.

In New York state, local school boards must develop a balanced school budget proposal annually and put it up for a public vote on the third Tuesday in May (Tuesday, May 16). District expenses may include salaries and benefits, curriculum, staff development, facilities maintenance and operation, transportation and debt service. Revenue includes state funding, federal funding, property taxes and appropriated fund balance.

Budget Fast Facts


If you are not a registered voter, you can register  Thursday, May 11, 2023, between 11:00 am & 5:00 pm in the High School lobby.  Voters must be 18 years of age, a US citizen, and a resident of the district for 30 days.

Highlights: 

  • Has been constructed with the goal of continuing to preserve student and enhance opportunities
  • Continues shared services when appropriate and continues to align program needs with student population 
  • Maintains a safe and secure environment for students and staff
  • Includes the 5 year renewal of the Sarah Wells lease
  • Includes the 5 year renewal of the transportation contract
  • Includes an Interfund Transfer to Capital for:
    • Renovations and repairs to the natatorium, pool and related items 
    • Capital Outlay project for various floor replacements district-wide
  • Within the tax levy cap of 2.85% which requires a 50% + 1 majority

  • Bus replacement plan includes 9 - 72 passenger buses as part of the 10 year replacement plan.

  • Campaign Expense filing to District Clerk (5 days prior to vote)
  • Last day of voter registration
  • Last day for absentee applications to be received if the ballot is to be mailed to the voters

May 12, 2023
