2021-2022 UPK

2021-2022 UPK

Dear Washingtonville Community:

The Washingtonville Central School District is excited to announce that we have decided to reinstate our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program for the 2021-2022 school year. As we plan for September 2021 we will continue to run two half-day programs at Round Hill for a total of 72 students (36 in the AM program/ 36 in the PM program).  In addition, we will be collaborating with our Community-Based Organizations and will have 7 slots at English Rose and 7 slots at Little Harvard.

If you have a child who will be 4 years old by December 1, 2021, they are eligible to register for our UPK program. Registration will take place beginning Monday, May 3 through Thursday, June 3. Visit https://www.ws.k12.ny.us/district/registration to access the registration packet.

Documents required to apply for a slot in our UPK program include a child’s birth certificate; immunization records; physical examination record; proof of guardianship (custodial papers or affidavits if applicable); parent/guardian identification (State-issued driver’s license/photo identification); individual education plan if appropriate (special education); completed pre-registration packet; and two proofs of District residency (such as lease, utility bill, pay stub, photo identification, etc.). If you do not have access to a computer, call Vanessa Sanchez at 845-497-4046 or email registrar@ws.k12.ny.us for more information.

All applicants will automatically be registered for our lottery. A virtual lottery will take place on Friday, June 4, 2021, for the 86 slots. If we have more than 86 applications for UPK, the remaining names will be put on a waiting list. If a family needs to rescind their application, we will utilize the waitlist to fill the spot. We look forward to welcoming our preschoolers back into our building in September.

Sincerely,

Dr. Larry Washington, Superintendent of Schools
Barbara Quinn, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
