Bus Safety Tip – Clothing Hazards

Bus Safety Tip – Clothing Hazards

Certain types of children's clothing can create a hazard as your child enters and exits the school bus. These items include:

- Long, dangling jackets or sweatshirt drawstrings

- Long backpack straps, key chains hanging from backpacks

- Long scarves or other loose clothing

Tips:

- Remove or shorten drawstrings from clothing items.
-  Cut off the extra length on backpack straps and refrain from
attaching items such as key chains to the backpack.
-  Avoid the use of long scarves or other loose clothing.
-  Encourage students to keep all extra items in their
backpacks when they are entering and exiting the bus.
