December 2024 & January 2025 Making a Difference Award recipients honored

The Making a Difference Awards recognize the many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other district staff that are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings. On January 24, 2025 Superintendent Dr. Larry Washington, Board of Education President Sharon Williams and Vice President Robin White delivered the Making a Difference Awards to each of the recipients.

Mrs. Dempsey is really nice and welcoming to all of the students. She makes a huge impact. She runs the Junior Community Service Club and Adolescents Against Drugs And Alcohol Club which were in charge of Red Ribbon Week and the food drive. In her health class, she teaches the importance of mental health awareness. She is just such a positive role model and I really enjoy her clubs and class.

Her incredible efforts have completely revitalized the main office, making it feel as if it’s been entirely redone. Parents continue to receive top-notch customer service, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. Teachers get the answers they need quickly, thanks to her efficiency and responsiveness. Through it all, she maintains a calm, composed presence that inspires those around her and sets a standard for others to follow. Her impact is nothing short of extraordinary, making the office not just a hub of activity but a model of excellence.
