The Making a Difference Awards recognize the many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other District staff that are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings. On March 21, 2025, Board of Education President Sharon Williams and Vice President Robin White delivered the Making a Difference Awards to each of the February recipients.
Tim Brown- Transportation
He gets me to school and back safely. He keeps the bus clean and I have no worries when he is driving. Nobody has gotten hurt or anything when he's driving and he's kept everyone on the bus in order and assigned seats to those who are misbehaving.He is the best bus driver, I trust him completely and so does my mother.
Alexis Raferty-Transportation
Alexis is a sweet and very caring person and the children love her dearly.
Arthur Whitchurch- Transportation
Mr. Art is so warm and welcoming every morning. I feel confident that my kindergartener is is great care while he is driving. My son left his water bottle on the bus and was so upset. Art went into the school and dropped it off at the main office. He and Ms. Janet handed out goody bags for Christmas, which made my sons day. He goes above and beyond for his kids!
Jane Clark-Taft Elementary School
Jane is an incredible team player. I have worked with Jane in the Aspire classrooms in the past and witnessed her compassion for her students. We both work in the CT model now and she brings so much joy to her class. Jane is called out of her classroom several times a week to sub for a teacher when they are shorthanded. She never complains and just goes with the flow. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such an extraordinary coworker like Mrs. Clark. She is making a "BIG" difference.
Tina Hagan- Washingtonville Middle School
Whenever she walks into a room the whole room lights up. She makes everyone feel welcomed when they are around her. Some students walk out of her class with a smile on their face and some kids really look forward to her class. She makes learning fun for everyone! She is an amazing teacher!
