Important Information from the Orange County District Attorney and Police Chiefs’ Association

Dear WCSD Families,

On Thursday, Mar. 17, the Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler and Town of Crawford Police Chief Dominick Blasko, on behalf of the Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County, issued a press release urging county parents to have discussions with their children about the dangers of using unregulated substances.

The press release provides information on an increase in Orange County high school students requiring medical attention due to the ingestion of a variety of substances, including synthetic marijuana, through the use of electronic cigarettes.

“For every parent and educator the health and safety of children and teenagers is of paramount importance,” said District Attorney Hoovler. “It is imperative that young people be warned about dangerous substances by adults that they trust, and that responsible adults be vigilant in ensuring that those in their care are safe.”

We strongly recommend WCSD parents read the attached press release prior to having a discussion with your children.
