Letter to the Community from Dr. Washington

Letter to the Community from Dr. Washington

Dear Washingtonville Community,

On Tuesday, May 18, nearly 2,200 residents of the Washingtonville Central School District came out to vote for the 2021-22 district budget. I am so pleased and thankful to say that voters approved the spending plan by a margin of more than 3:1.

Your support of our students and our schools is immeasurable. I know that we are all busy, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to let your voice be heard through your ballot.

Throughout the past year, our community has been tested unlike ever before. Our students, our staff and our families have faced enormous challenges, and yet together, we have made it through. It is that spirit of community that has helped us all persevere; it is that spirit of community that will ensure we continue to thrive in the future.

The budget passed by voters will allow us to continue to provide the quality education that our community has come to expect from Washingtonville Schools by supporting our students’ academic, social and emotional needs.

We could not do this important work without you. Again, thank you for being a part of the process and for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Larry Washington
Superintendent of Schools
