Making a Difference recipients honored for February 2026

The Making a Difference Award recognizes the many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other District staff who are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings. Members of the Washingtonville Board of Education delivered the Making a Difference Award to each February recipient.

Kathleen Vilchez

Mrs. Vilchez has been an amazing educator to my daughter in 1st grade. She is kind, patient, intelligent, forgiving, and caring to say the least. She has maintained consistent communication and works with us as parents. Knowing she is my daughter's teacher gives me comfort. She works with us as a team to meet my daughter's needs and helps push through and get past her struggles. Mrs. Vilchez is an asset!
