Washingtonville Central School District board members were recognized at the October 17th BOE meeting for their dedication and commitment to the school community. Board members were presented with a certificate recognizing their hard work and thanking them for the resources they have provided to WCSD.
The school board, served by, Sharon Williams (President), Robin White (Vice President), William Hewlett Jr. (Secretary), Dan Luedke (Trustee), Kristie Johnson (Trustee), Jim Overbey (Trustee), and Brian T. Strommer (Trustee), is an important part of the community and is responsible for student success.
School Board Recognition Week was from October 14th to 18th, and school communities came together to recognize their board members for their work throughout the school year.
The board makes sure that the needs of the local community are met and serves as a key leadership component of the school. Members provide leadership to students, faculty and staff. The work of the school board includes but is not limited to developing a shared vision and goals for the district, ensuring strategies, resources, policies and programs align with district goals.
