The Making a Difference Awards recognize the many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other District staff that are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings.

Nina Giordani, who has been teaching at Washingtonville High School since 2007, was recently honored by Senator James Skoufis at the first annual Women’s Recognition Night at Tapped Brewery and Bar in Middletown.

Faculty and staff from Washingtonville Central School District’s three elementary schools – Little Britain, Round Hill and Taft – learned about how poverty can affect a family at any time and what they can do to help them when they have a need. The whole district is now experienced in poverty simulation, teaching them how to help families who have a poverty need.

There are so many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other District staff that are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings. It is time to recognize these special individuals.

This month is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating all of the incredible women in American history who have made contributions to our society in a variety of fields. This month, the Washingtonville Central School District is recognizing three principals within the WCSD community whose contributions to our community are valued and appreciated.

The Making a Difference Awards recognize the many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other District staff that are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings. On March 22, 2024, Superintendent Dr. Larry Washington, Board of Education President Sharon Williams, Vice President Robin White, and Trustee Kristie Johnson delivered the Making a Difference Awards to each of the February recipients.

The Washingtonville Teacher Center hosted its first “Mentor Mixer” on March 19, 2024.his event was hosted by Carla Sansone, the director of the Washingtonville Teacher Center in order to give new teachers an opportunity to collaborate district-wide. 

Women's History Month

Washingtonville Central School District students participated in last weekend’s Odyssey of the Mind competition. Teams from Little Britain, Round Hill, Taft, Washingtonville Middle School, and Washingtonville High School all participated on March 2, 2024 for a chance to move on to states.
