Board Goals 2026-2027

The WCSD Board of Education is committed to governing in a manner that promotes student success, fiscal responsibility, and meaningful community engagement. Guided by the District's strategic pillars of Academic Excellence, Student Experience, and Community Connection, the Board will focus its efforts on ensuring equitable opportunities for all students, supporting the well-being of the school community, and maintaining public trust through transparent and effective governance.

Community Connections

The WCSD Board of Education is committed to strengthening trust, transparency, and meaningful partnerships with families, staff, students, and community stakeholders. Recognizing that strong schools are built through strong community relationships, the Board will support initiatives that foster engagement, increase access to information, and create opportunities for shared decision-making.

Community Engagement and Transparency

  • Continue hosting bi-annual Connections and Conversation sessions at school facilities in partnership with PTA/PTO organizations to discuss district initiatives, gather feedback, and listen to concerns.

  • Review and enhance communication practices to ensure families and community members receive timely, accurate, and accessible information regarding district priorities, finances, student achievement, and school initiatives.

Celebrating District Success

  • Collaborate with district administration to develop consistent processes for sharing student, staff, and school accomplishments.

  • Increase public awareness of district achievements through coordinated communications efforts that highlight academic success, student engagement, community partnerships, and innovative programs.

Student Experience

Student Voice, Inclusivity and Leadership

  • Utilize student feedback to inform decision-making related to school culture, programming, student supports, and educational opportunities.
