The following message was sent to Washingtonville Central School District families via ParentSquare today, Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026.
Dear School Community,
I am writing to share important information regarding an incident that occurred this morning.
A high school student left the school grounds without permission. School administration and the student’s parents immediately followed the student off campus. The parent and local law enforcement intervened, and the student subsequently received necessary medical assistance off school grounds.
Please be assured that student safety remains our highest priority, and we are committed to keeping our community informed.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Sincerely,
Larry Washington
Superintendent
