Wizards Against Cancer invites community to upcoming events

Dear Washingtonville School Community,

The Wizards Against Cancer Club warmly invites all students, staff, families, and community groups to join us for our Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Parade! The parade will take place on Friday, October 9th, right before the Varsity Football game against Wallkill.

All participating schools and groups should report to the end zone starting at 5:15 PM to line up. Please wear your pink proudly and bring homemade signs to show your support! We will have an area of seating for the game for all paraders.  This is a completely free event for the entire community and we are looking for lots of participation from all of our schools and Central Office.  If your school has a Team Captain, please let us know.

 Additionally, our club is seeking nominations for an Honoree of the Night—someone in our community who has battled breast cancer, or a cherished staff member who has passed away—so that we may celebrate and honor their legacy during halftime. If you would like to nominate an honoree, please reply directly to Assistant Principal Robert Shust with their name and details.

In addition to the parade, the Wizards Against Cancer Club is looking for team members and walkers to join us for the Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Woodbury Common on Sunday, October 18th. We would love to have a massive Washingtonville presence as we walk together to support survivors and work toward a cure.
