Below are the orientation dates and details for each Washingtonville school. These sessions are designed to help students and families become familiar with their new school environment, meet staff and prepare for a successful start to the school year. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Little Britain Elementary
Monday, August 24, 2026
Time: 9:00–10:00 a.m.
Please note, this orientation is intended for incoming first grade and new students.
What to expect:
- Welcome presentation and meet school staff
- School tour and classroom visit
- Overview of the upcoming year
Washingtonville Middle School
Tuesday, August 25, 2026
Location: WMS Auditorium
Sixth grade orientation times by last name:
- A–L: 9:00–11:00 a.m.
- M–Z: 12:00–2:00 p.m.
Round Hill Elementary
Monday, August 24, 2026
Time: 12:30–1:15 p.m.
Location: cafeteria
Please note, this orientation is intended for students new to the district or Round Hill Elementary School in grades 1–5 and their families. See kindergarten orientation details below.
What to expect:
- Meet school staff in the cafeteria for a brief presentation
- Tour the building and see where your child's classroom is located
- Visit the newly installed playground area after orientation

What to expect:
- Approximately one-hour presentation in the auditorium
- Meet school counselors, administrators and student leaders
- Receive fall schedules and other materials
- Opportunity to walk through and become familiar with the high school
Taft Elementary
Friday, August 28, 2026
Time: 9:30–10:30 a.m.
Location: cafeteria
This orientation is intended for new students and their parents/guardians.
What to expect:
- Meet in the cafeteria for a presentation from the principal and assistant principal
- Tour the building
- See your classroom; teachers will not be present
