WHS students showcase original music in annual "Greatest Hits" album

Students in Washingtonville High School's Music Production and Engineering course are inviting the community to experience their creativity through this year's "Greatest Hits" album, a collection of original compositions created throughout the school year. The album showcases a wide range of musical styles and techniques, celebrating the skills students developed as they learned to produce, record, mix and master their own music.

Introduced three years ago at Washingtonville High School, the Music Production and Engineering course invites students to create, mix, and master music using digital audio workstations (DAWs). The curriculum follows a progressive journey: students begin the year mixing pre-made loops, transition to recording with instruments, and ultimately learn to input their own digital notes and sounds. Throughout the process, they develop essential skills in audio editing and mixing to bring their creative visions to life.

"It has been an honor to guide the production students this year," said Jeremy Groth, WHS music production teacher. "Their inventive minds, dedication to their craft and delightful camaraderie made for an exceptionally fulfilling collaboration. We hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as we enjoyed creating them!"
