Capital Project
Washingtonville Central School District voters overwhelmingly approved a $43.4 million capital project in May 2024. Informed through the completion of the district’s state-mandated Building Condition Survey in 2023, the proposed project prioritizes health and safety, infrastructure, and athletic improvements to maintain, update, and enhance our existing school facilities.
Information on the proposed scope of work, total cost, and estimated tax impact can be found below. We encourage community members to attend upcoming Board of Education meetings or contact the district office with any questions.
The capital project is maintaining, updating and enhancing facilities at all five school buildings, including infrastructure, health and safety needs, kitchen equipment, new turf fields, track, and other field improvements. It will also make district-wide pool and playground improvements.

Athletic field construction kicks off at Washingtonville High School

The Washingtonville Central School District celebrated the start of construction on a new multipurpose field and track at Washingtonville High School with a groundbreaking ceremony. This project, part of the 2024 Capital Project, was approved by voters in May 2024 and focuses on health and safety, infrastructure, and athletic improvements. Read more.
Important update on fall athletics

The Washingtonville Central School District will begin a phased series of enhancements to the high school's football field and track this fall, with completion scheduled for summer 2026. The project will feature the installation of a new multipurpose field with artificial turf, an expanded eight-lane track, and a new press box. Additional improvements, including lighting and fencing, will also be made. Read more.
Capital project construction begins this summer

Once students say goodbye to their teachers and leave their schools for the summer, the Washingtonville Central School District’s 2024 Capital Project construction work will begin for some phases while bid work continues for others.
