Washingtonville High School turf field guidelines

As the fall sports season gets under way, please take a moment to review the Washingtonville High School turf field guidelines below, including important footwear requirements that help protect the playing surface. The following guidelines are essential to preserving the quality and longevity of the turf. 

Turf field guidelines

• No food, seeds, gum or spitting
• No smoking or vaping
• Water only. No other beverages are permitted
• Chairs are not permitted on the turf
• Do not drag equipment or other objects across the turf
• Do not use equipment that penetrates the turf surface (such as staked corner flags)
• No glass or other sharp objects

Footwear

• Cleats must not be worn while crossing the track to enter the field
• Metal spikes are not permitted on the turf

Track spike limits:

• Running oval: 7 mm maximum
• Throws and jumping areas ("D" areas): 9 mm maximum
