Meet the Candidates:
Robin White

My name is Robin White and I have been a resident of the Washingtonville Central School District for 57 years. I have had the honor of serving on the WCSD BOE since 2017 and currently serve as Vice President. I am a member of the Facilities, Wellness, and Budget Education Committees, the voting delegate for New York State School Boards Association, and the Orange County School Boards Association delegate, where I currently serve as 1st Vice President as well as the Area 9 representative on the NYSSBA Resolutions Committee. Working with these organizations helps me stay ahead of current issues we may face and how to best meet those challenges. I have previously served on the district Policy and Strategic Planning Committees as well.
I am a proud alumnus of Washingtonville as well as SUNY Orange and SUNY New Paltz, where I majored in English and Special Education. Our five children are graduates of WHS, and we currently have two granddaughters at Taft. Our grandson will begin kindergarten at Round Hill in September. My current occupation is providing Daycare/Early Childhood educational experience for all three, and I fit my additional volunteer work in as well. My husband is the head Cross Country and Track & Field coach, our son Michael, Jr. is a special education teacher at the high school and assistant coach of the cross country and track & field teams, and our daughter Jaime is a special education teacher at the middle school. Our other children work elsewhere as a school counselor, special education teacher, and social worker, respectively.
I have been a volunteer at the Country Store Thrift Shop for 24 years and currently sit on the Executive Board. I am a volunteer with the Country Kids Food Pantry and Food For Kids, and a member of the Washingtonville Kiwanis Club.
Simply put, I would like to continue to represent WCSD because I love my hometown. Community service has been at the core of my life since I was a child and I have a long resumé of volunteerism. I have spent my adult life leading by example and raised our children to serve others, to value education, and to look for ways to contribute to our community. This position is a natural extension of my life’s work.
These are challenging times for education and we are not immune to the issues facing students and families across the country. We must continue to be fiscally responsible during these often-difficult times to ensure the financial health of our district in the future. We must continue to increase our community engagement to strengthen our district and fortify our staff in support of our mission to provide every single child with what they deserve: A safe and nurturing environment where every child is challenged by the very best opportunity for education we can provide. If I am re-elected, my goal will continue to be to represent the students of our district with integrity, dignity, and professionalism. I will continue to seek and accept every opportunity to increase my knowledge and experience so that I may better serve the families of Washingtonville.
Amelia Breitmaier

My name is Amelia Breitmaier and I have been a resident of the Washingtonville Central School District for 11 years. I have 2 children in the school district. One in 3rd grade and one in 9th grade.
I enjoy working as a Photographer Assistant assisting my head photographer in setting up backdrops, props and individual setups for family and infant photo shoots. Working with babies as young as two weeks old. We also do holiday mini shots.
I graduated from Fonda-Fultonville Central School district in Fonda, NY and received a Master’s degree in Special Education with a minor in History from SUNY New Paltz. During my time at SUNY New Paltz, I was a part of the women’s soccer team and worked in the equipment room in the athletic department.
For the past 3 years I have been the Co-President for Taft Elementary’s PTA. I also volunteer and support the Washingtonville Tennis Booster Club. I am “Team Mom” for my youngest son’s Washingtonville Little League Team.
The biggest challenge facing our school district is the gap of parents to school community, teacher retention, and student services for all who need it.
If I am elected to the Board of Education, I look forward to helping keep the Washingtonville school district strong and being part of the decisions that move our schools forward. I want to support our teachers and make sure they have what they need to succeed in their classrooms. I also want to support our students by making sure they receive the services and attention they need to succeed in the future and become active members of the community.
Strong schools help build strong communities. I will stay connected with parents and be a clear voice for them in decision-making. I also want to strengthen the connection between families and schools, encouraging parents to stay involved and seek support throughout the entire year.
Stephen Frey

My name is Stephen Frey and I am running for Trustee for the Washingtonville School Board. I have lived in the school district for 33 years. My wife, Emily Frey currently works as a Physical Therapist in the district. We have two young children who will be in the Washingtonville Central School District when they become of age.
I am a detective and work on criminal investigations involving a variety of crimes which include crimes against children and the targeting of school aged children online.
In 2010, I graduated from Washingtonville High School and attained my B.S. in Health and Physical Education K-12 from Monmouth University in 2014. I am dually certified to teacher health and physical education. I earned my Master’s Degree in Homeland Security with a concentration in Intelligence from American Public University in 2018. I coached Varsity baseball when I taught in the district in 2016 but I am not actively involved in any district sponsored activities.
I want to be a member of the Washingtonville Central School District Board of Education for many reasons. To keep politically driven agendas and personalities out of public school. To preserve and continue the reputation the Washingtonville Central School District has earned. To provide community with board member focused on enhancing school safety for students, allowing good teachers to teach and encouraging parents to have a more active role in their children’s education. The biggest challenge is going to be continuing to recruit, hire and retain effective teachers. I believe the district needs to continue giving teachers resources to be effective so students can have the same educational experience I had in Washingtonville. However, I would like to help facilitate the implementation of more robust physical safety measures throughout the district over the ensuing term.
Elias Rosado-Cunningham

My name is Elias Rosado-Cunningham, a proud resident of the Washingtonville Central School District for the past four years. I am currently a senior at Washingtonville High School and plan to continue my education in Dutchess County studying political science, while staying connected to the Hudson Valley community I care deeply about.
Professionally, I am the President of North Bridge Political Consulting, working with elected officials and candidates across the tri-state area on campaign strategy and constituent outreach. This has allowed me to connect with people from all backgrounds, understand concerns, and help build solutions. I also work as a home caregiver for the elderly.
Within the district, I serve as President of the Washingtonville Youth in Government Club and founded the Washingtonville HS Bible Club to create an inclusive space for students. I stay actively engaged in the school community and beyond, including volunteering with activist organizations, serving as a Lector at St. Mary's Church, and worked for two years as an administrative aide for Assem. Brian Maher, gaining experience in constituent services, policy creation, negotiations and community outreach.
I am running for the Board of Education because, as a student, I see firsthand the challenges our district faces. Bringing a student perspective to the board ensures every voice is represented, students, teachers, staff, and taxpayers alike. I believe in giving back to the community that has given me so much. One of the most significant challenges facing our schools is a lack of transparency. This affects rising school taxes and serious issues students face, including a growing drug crisis that begins in the middle school and worsens in the high school without sufficient action. Trust is a foundation, and when parents, students, and educators all have a seat at the table, we can move forward together.
If elected, my focus will be on improving policies, strengthening school conditions, and creating a safer, more supportive environment. I want to pursue real solutions to the drug crisis through prevention, intervention, and proactive initiatives, while ensuring greater transparency so parents and taxpayers are fully informed. I am proud to carry endorsements from state and local officials such as County Legislators Kathy Stegenga and Virginia Scott, and I will leverage my government affairs experience to strengthen relationships with county and state leaders, helping secure grants to ease taxpayer burden and invest in meaningful improvements. Above all, I will bring a genuine student perspective to the board, grounded in firsthand experience and a commitment to progress for all.
