Superintendent Message Regarding Social Media Post

Superintendent Message Regarding Social Media Post

Dear District Families and Community Members,

A recent Washingtonville community social media post raises concerns regarding a ride-share driver who is reported to have had inappropriate verbal interactions with a 16-year-old passenger.

Although the individual has worked in the District as a substitute teacher, at the present time, this individual will not be on school grounds or in contact with students. The school district will also cooperate fully with local law enforcement as they investigate this matter.

The safety, security, and well-being of our students remains the District’s absolute highest priority. We maintain strict protocols regarding student safety and take all allegations of inappropriate behavior with the utmost seriousness; regardless of whether the alleged incident occurred on school grounds or outside of school hours.

If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at the District office or contact local law enforcement.

Sincerely,

Larry Washington
Superintendent of Schools
